United: why artists should unite

29 October 2021

On 7 October at 19:00 curator, photographer and naïve artist Oleksandr Liapin talked with Mervyn Clingan and Judy Joel — the founders of The Association of British Naive Artists.

Modern naïve art is gradually winning the art market in the world. Even though some European countries already have modern naïve art museums and naïve artists’ works are widely represented in galleries and art centres, this art movement has only started gaining recognition in the UK and Ukraine.

The Association of British Naïve Artists is an organization that has united amateur artists and is consistently popularizing their work in Great Britain. We discussed online whether we need such an association in today’s Ukrainian cultural context and how it works.
