| UNESCO has designated 2009 as "Gogol Year". Gogol's genius unified two great slavic cultures and revealed this synthesis to the world. He is the artistic code of the national identity of Ukraine in European and world space. In 2009 when the world will celebrate the bicentenary of Nikolai Gogol's birth, the Annual International Festival of GOGOLFEST in Kyiv will become the brightest cultural event in Ukraine.
GOGOLFEST 2009 dedicated to the bicentenary of Nikolai Gogol's birth September 11th-27th, 2009
Venues: For the first time GOGOLFEST 2009 will turn Kyiv into the "City of Gogol". Festival events will take place on four stages: "Art Arsenal", Kyiv State Opera Theatre, Theatre of Young Spectator and "Lavra" Gallery.
